Abstract

In the emerging global information %rodeo, the Indonesia government has a mission to encourage the eonogy growth by utiking and developing the information technology. One of the programs is that to sociake the IT in the education sector and to provide the c-commerce and e-government facility. As an education institution, we have an obetation to support the government program by providing the graduates who have IT skill To answer this challenge, we conduct a study that investigates the factors that iqfluence the universiiy students to use IT Employing the theory of planned behavior, our study suggests that a need for skill-enhancement and soda/ information influence the motivation of the students to use IT indirectly through the behavior and an attitude toward behavior influence the motivation of the students to use IT directly: Thus,parents,lreends, and lecturers have an important role in encouraging the students to mastering the IT
